Carbide metal

Collective term for cast carbide alloys and sintered carbide metals consiting of one or several carbides as preliminary materials (mostly tungsten carbide, titanium carbide and tantalum carbide) and a binding agent (mostly cobalt or nickel). Forming by the sintering process produces a dense structure, in which metal carbides are embedded as base substance in a tough binder matrix.
