Welcome to the BURGMANN Sealing World
Hydrodynamic mechanical seal

The pressure to be sealed, the sliding velocity, the load factor k and the geometrical development of the sliding faces (shape, roughness, flatness, sealing width) acting as the result of the pressurizing medium cause the build up of a lubrication film that prevents direct contact of the two face materials.

Combination of a hydrostatic seal (pressure reduction) and a hydrodynamic mechanical seal (sealing of the leakage flow)
