Emergency running properties | ||
Term for the way a material pairing behaves during dry running. The emergency running properties are influenced by the sliiding pressure and sliding velocity and by the selected material pairing. Materials with good emergency running properties have a low coefficient of friction thanks to |
self-lubrication (graphite
special impregnation), and a low temperature development and wear rate in conjunction with high thermal
conductivity. The following table lists in greatly simplified form the emergency
running properties of various material pairings ( meaningless, poor, moderate, good): |
