Test rigs enable mechanical seals and their components to be tested under controlled conditions. Dry running test rigs, high pressure test rigs and endurance test rigs are employed to test the materials and designs of standard

and series mechanical seals. Agitator sealsand special mechanical seals are tested under practice-related conditions on special-purpose test rigs (see figure).
