Torsion damage to bellows mechanical seals. Cracks and fractures often result from torsional stresses in rubber bellows seals when the torque is transmitted solely via the bellows. Service life is prolonged considerably if the power flux is directed e. g. by way of springs with connections specially designed to prevent torsional loading of the bellows. |
