Welcome to the BURGMANN Sealing World
Metallic expansion joint

Machines and apparatus affected by large heat- and load-induced shaft displacements and/or angular errors between the shaft and the housing require compensation of these deflections outside the mechanical seal. In view of the pressures to be sealed and the temperatures, it is mostly impossible to employ compressible expansion joints. Metal expansion joints are used instead.
