Heat exchangers

Heat exchangers find application in sealing engineering as parts of buffer systems for the cooling of buffer liquids. Key criteria for their selection are pressure, materials and cooling capacities. Heat exchangers should have venting ports on the housing (cooling water side) and on the buffer liquid side.

They should be set up to enable the venting to take place at the highest point of the buffer system (installation diagram). Account must be taken of the pressure loss in the heat exchanger when designing the buffer system's circulation equipment. Heat exchangers are pressure vessels within the meaning of the pressure vessel regulation.
